Professor Chris Secombes, Academician of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, Appointed as Guest Professor at SHOU

On the morning of October 25, Wu Jiamin, Secretary of SHOU CPC Committee, presented the letter of appointment of guest professor to professor Chris Secombes in Meeting Room 137 of the Administrative Building of SHOU on behalf of SHOU. Chris Secombes is an academician of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, winner of Alexander Nnian Bruce Outstanding Contribution Award, and internationally renowned fish immunologist. The appointment ceremony was directed by professor Tan Hongxin, Dean of the College of Fisheries and Life Science.

Currently Professor Chris Secombes is tenured professor at the College of Life and Environmental Sciences of the University of Aberdeen, Director of Scottish Fish Immunology Research Centre, and Editor-in-Chief of Fish & Shellfish Immunology (an important academic journal in the field of fish and shellfish immunology). He has been long engaged in research on fish immunology and disease control, and done a series of ground-breaking work in related fields. So far, he has published more than 400 papers on Nature Biotechnology, Nature communication, PNAS, PLOS Pathogens, Journal of Immunology, and many other world-renowned academic journals, and the total cites have exceeded 15,000 times.
