SHOU Students Winning Prizes in “Guanghe Cup” • The 1st National Graduate Elite Challenge on Fisheries

On November 8-9, “Guanghe Cup” • The 1st National Graduate Elite Challenge on Fisheries, sponsored by the National Steering Committee of Agricultural Graduate Education, was held at Dalian Ocean University. A total of 48 teams from 27 higher educational institutions and scientific research institutions nationwide competed with each other in the contest. The three teams sent by SHOU were composed of SHOU Vice President Li Jiale, Wang Xichang, Executive Dean of the Graduate School, and nine students.

The contest included four units (i.e., professional knowledge, professional skills, innovation & entrepreneurship, and comprehensive quality presentation), and participating teams were required to complete professional knowledge exams, three types of professional skill experiments, 15 mins innovation & entrepreneurship project briefing, and bilingual personal comprehensive quality presentation, etc. After intense competition, the “Fishery Joys Team” of SHOU, composed of Guo Jiaxing, Zeng Xu, and Yang Dan, won a second prize; the “Fishery Destiny Team”, composed of Zhang Yuan, Meng Liujiang, and Qu Junyue, won a third prize; the “Sea Whale Team”, composed of Wang Zhuoqun, Liu Xiaolu, and Wang Huifang, also won a third prize. In the unit of personal comprehensive quality presentation, Wang Zhuoqun won a second prize, and Zhang Yuan and Yang Dan each won a third prize.

During the contest, the Subcommittee on Fishery Development of the National Steering Committee of Agricultural Graduate Education also held its 2019 annual conference. More than 30 people, including 14 members of the committee, attended the conference, and SHOU Vice President Li Jiale addressed the audience.
