On November 14-17, the 9th Seminar on Marine Culture and Social Development was held at SHOU. The audience at the opening ceremony listened to speeches given by Zhang Dongsu, Secretary of the CPC Committee of China Maritime Museum; Zhu Hongzhao, Deputy Director of the Institute of Literature, Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences; Min Hui, Deputy Secretary of SHOU CPC Committee and Vice President of SHOU. Also present at the ceremony were more than 40 experts and scholars in the field of marine culture from the Ocean University of China, the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, East China Normal University, Shanghai Maritime University, Nanjing University, Zhejiang Ocean University, Guangzhou University, Dinghai Marine History Culture Research Association, and many other higher educational institutions and research institutions. The opening ceremony was directed by professor Cui Feng, Director of SHOU Marine Culture Research Center and Director of the Social Work Department of the College of Marine Culture and Law.
It is learned that SHOU has successfully held the Seminar on Marine Culture and Social Development for nine consecutive years. Nowadays, the seminar has become an ideal exchange platform or marine culture and social studies. The fruits of the 9th Seminar on Marine Culture and Social Development have accumulated experience for promoting marine culture studies and exchanges and improving the quality of future seminars.
