SHOU Students Doing Well in the 1st National Aquatic Skills Competition for College Students

In order to thoroughly implement the Opinions on Strengthening the Integration of Agriculture, Science, and Education and Carrying Out Plan 2.0 for Education and Training of Outstanding Agricultural and Forestry Talents jointly issued by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and National Forestry and Grassland Administration and enhance the training of professional practical skills for college students, the 1st National Aquatic Skills Competition for College Students was held at Guangdong Ocean University (Huguang Campus) on November 22-24. The competition was sponsored by the Joint Committee of the Ministry of Education's Steering Committee on the Teaching of Aquaculture Majors in Higher Educational Institutions and the National Demonstration Center for Experimental Fisheries Science Education, undertaken by Guangdong Ocean University, and co-organized by Guangdong Evergreen Feed Industry Co., Ltd. and other entities. Nearly 300 students from 54 higher educational institutions across the country competed with each other in the event, fully exhibiting the practical operational skills and professional comprehensive quality of students majoring in fisheries science in Chinese higher educational institutions. SHOU sent six students, who participated in all the six items in Guangdong Province under the leadership of five teachers, i.e., Chen Lijing, Gong Xiaoling, Zhang Ruilei, Xu Dan, and Xu Can. They eventually won two grand prizes, three first prizes, and one second prize, and SHOU won the Excellent Organization Award.
