At 10:28 am of Oct. 10, 2016, the loading ceremony of the pelagic fishery resources research vessel “Songhang” of SHOU was formally launched in a 500,000-ton dock of Lin’gang Ship Building & Repair Base of Tianjin Xin’gang Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. In the celebrating sound of firecrackers, general blocks 301 and 302 were successfully pillared. SHOU staff present at the loading ceremony included Wu Jiamin, Secretary of SHOU CPC Committee; Li Yancheng, SHOU Vice President; responsible persons and teachers of the Department of Personnel and the College of Marine Sciences; and all the members of the manufacturing supervision team of “Songhang”. The on-site supervision team of Shanghai Double Hope Maritime Development Co., Ltd. was also present at the ceremony. The staff of Tianjin Xin’gang Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. present at the ceremony included Gao Xuehu, Chairman of the Board; Gao Yunqiang, Deputy General Manager; and the responsible persons of the Department of Military Products, the Special Shipyard, the Design Institute, the Department of Quality Assurance and the Department of Materials.

Symposium
Before the ceremony, SHOU leaders held a symposium with the leaders of Tianjin Xin’gang Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. and the responsible persons of related departments.

The loading of “Songhang” in the dock means that the shipbuilding work has entered a new phase, the phase for more challenging tasks like in-dock general assembly, keel laying, launching, etc. There is no doubt that, under the common support and joint efforts of all the parties concerned, the day of sailing “Songhang” will become closer and closer.
