Phase 2 Training Course ofChina Coast Guard North Pacific High Sea Fishery Law Enforcement wassuccessfully conducted in SHOU from September 6 to 30, 2016. On the afternoon ofSeptember 29, the grand graduation ceremony was held in Meeting Room 137 in theadministrative building in Shanghai Ocean University. Zhang Qiuhua, DeputyDirector of China Coast Guard East China Sea Branch, and Li Jiale, VicePresident of Shanghai Ocean University, attended the ceremony and deliveredimportant speeches. The meeting was presided over by Zhao Bing, an investigatorof China Coast Guard Command. Representatives of the leaders and faculties ofthe School of Oceanography and 25 coast guard trainees also attended the graduationceremony. 

In his speech,Vice President Li Jiale congratulated 25 trainees from China Coast Guard onsuccessfully completing the training mission and obtaining course-completioncertificates, and expressed his appreciation to China Coast Guard for itslong-term guidance and supports to the university. He said that Shanghai OceanUniversity would continue to training reserved talents for China Coast Guard,tally with the strategy of “the Belt and Road”, promote the pragmaticcooperation, and obtain greater achievements.

Deputy Director ZhangQiuhua thanked Shanghai Ocean University for its great efforts in elaboratelypreparing and organizing courses and spoke highly of the trainees’ hard workand outstanding achievements. As an important move of China Coast Guard topromote the China-US joint law enforcement of high sea fishery, this trainingplays an important role in moving Chinese coast guards towards sea areas farfrom the coastline. It has drawn high attention from all levels of governments.He urged all trainees to recognize the importance of studying, keep learninglanguage and law enforcement skills in the future work based on such training,keep improving themselves and make greater contribution to operation of ChinaCoast Guard in international sea area.
