On the morning of July, 22, accompanied by Chief of the Department ofStrategic Planning & and Economy of State Oceanic Administration ZhangZhanhai, Secretary of Party Committee of East Sea Branch Zhou Zhenhua,Secretary-General of the Office of State Oceanic Administration Meng Qinglei,Chief of the Department of Policies, Regulations & Planning of East SeaBranch Gao Zhongyi and so forth, Fang Jianmeng, PartyMember and Deputy Director of State Oceanic Administration, paid a marine economy-themedsurvey visit to our university. Also present at the survey meeting were Secretary of PartyCommittee of SHOU Wu Jiamin, President of SHOU Cheng Yudong,Vice President of SHOU Li Jiale, heads of the Department of DevelopmentPlanning and the Department of Science and Technology, and representatives ofexperts and professors. The survey meeting was hosted by Chief of the Department ofStrategic Planning & and Economy of State Oceanic Administration ZhangZhanhai.
Wu Jiamin, Secretary of PartyCommittee of SHOU, first gave a speech to warmly welcome the Fang delegation, and then briefly introduced the development status of the university.Focusing on the specific contents of the survey, Professor and Dean of theCollege of Marine Sciences CHEN Xinjun, Professor and Secretary of PartyCommittee of College of Fisheries and Life Science Tan Hongxin, Professor HePeimin, and General Manager of National Science and Technology Park of ShanghaiOcean University Wu Jionghua respectively introduced the main achievements madeby SHOU in the fields of “oceanic fisheries development”, “industrialaquaculture & large-scale aquaculture”, “green aquaculture”, “marineranching” and “technology transfer system construction” and related policysuggestions, and presented their opinions and suggestions on the promotion ofthe transformation, upgrading and development of marine fishery during the “13thFive-year Plan” period. Li Jiale, Vice President of SHOU, introduced the developmentand breakthroughs of the marine disciplines of our university; Cheng Yudong,President of SHOU, introduced the four tasks faced by the strategic developmentof SHOU and the policy paths of its reform and development based on itsdevelopment planning during the “13th Five-year Plan” period. Bothparties engaged in in-depth exchanges and discussions during the surveymeeting.
Deputy Director Fang Jianmeng summed up thesurvey, by fully affirming the preparations made and advices and suggestionsoffered by the leaders, experts and professors of SHOU, and pointed out that, in recent years, the university had activelyintegrated with the national marine development strategy, played an active rolein the development of national and local marine economy, and made satisfactoryachievements. He expressed his hope that the university would continue tointegrate with the national marine development strategy, implement the fivedevelopment ideas based on the overall marine power strategy and theconstruction of 21st-century Maritime Silk Road, constantly find newdevelopment and growth points while maintaining its own developmentcharacteristics, and make new contributions and achieve new development inserving the marine economy.
