Journal of Fisheries of China Listed among China’s Outstanding Academic Journals with International Impact

During December 18 to 19, 2015, the press conference for Annual Report on the Impact Factor of Chinese Academic Journals & Annual Report on International Citation (2015) developed by Chinese Academic Journals Electronic Publishing House, China Evaluation Research Center of Scientific and Technical Literature, and Library of Tsinghua University, was held in Beijing. The Journal of Fisheries of China, sponsored by SHOU and with Prof. Huang Shuoling as the chief editor, was once again listed among “China’s outstanding academic journals with international impact”, being the only one listed in the field of fishery journals.

China’s Outstanding Academic Journals with International Impact (on natural science and engineering technology) covers 175 journals selected from 6306 journals in China according to CAJ International Citation Report, ranked according to total citation frequency of China academic journals by SCI and SSCI journals in 2014 and reviewed by over 40 experts in the community of journals, with the minimum total citation frequency higher than 1329 SCI journals respectively. The statistical results show that from the perspective of quantitative analysis, journals listed in China’s Outstanding Academic Journals with International Impact have enjoyed certain international impact and can well claim themselves as international journals. Impressive effect has been achieved for Chinese academic journals in the strategy of “going out”.

As of 2014, English website was created for the Journal of Fisheries of China, adjusting the layout of Chinese and English versions and listing of references. It was selected by China Institution for Scientific and Technical Information in 2015 and submitted to Scopus databank, and passed the preliminary review. Its continuous entries into China’s Outstanding Academic Journals with International Impact indicate its rising international impact in the field of fisheries.
