At 10:29am of December 28, 2015, firecrackers were set off in 200T workshop of Tianjin Xingang Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co., Ltd in celebration of the 102 keel paving for Songhang (SV004-1).
Songhang began its construction on October 28. From the very beginning, the parties involved, including shipbuilding office, shipyard, and design and supervising department, made it clear that 102 sections of keel must be completed in the same year. For this purpose, after the supervising team of SHOU stationed in the shipyard, the Department for Military Products immediately convened the meeting involving different departments, including the design, material supply, production, quality control and security. The meeting stressed the responsibility of the shipyard for building a ship like Songhang with high technical content, believing the key factors to the sophisticated investigation ship were quality, security and progress.
A weekly meeting was held with site supervising team of SHOU, supervising team of Shanghai Shuangxi Marine Development Co., Ltd and Xingang Shipbuilding Company participating, during which the problems revealed in the process of construction were carefully studied and recorded in meeting minutes. A summary report on progress, quality and security would also be made weekly and monthly.
With joint efforts of the ship owner, supervisor and shipyard, 102 sections of keel were completed on schedule, with quality guaranteed. This is only the first step for construction of Songhang, to be followed by 25 sections of construction with increasingly great responsibility. Year 2016 will witness the full construction of Songhang, experiencing the milestones of construction of different sections, assembling, launching into water and fitting-out. The site supervising team will live up to the trust of the school, doing its best to overcome difficulties in the course of construction in cooperation with the designer, shipyard and the supervising unit, so as to guarantee the construction progress of Songhang.
