On August 10, Xisha Fishery Development Plan (2015-2020) edited under the charge of Prof. Chen Xinjun from Shanghai Ocean University passed expert review organized by Sansha City Comprehensive Law Enforcement Bureau.
The Plan, based on China’s strategy on the South China Sea, proposed the fisheries development goal, path, task and key work in the future 6 years for marine fishing, aquaculture, recreational fisheries, sea farming, fisheries supply base and marine ecological protection area in Xisha sea area. Participating experts on the meeting all agreed that the Plan is forward-looking, comprehensive in contents, accurate in positioning and feasible for guarantee measures, provides favorable scientific basis and guide for the sustainable development of the fisheries industry in Sansha and they unanimously agreed that the program successfully passed the review.
