President of French Polynesia Visited Our University

On June 6, 2015, President of French Polynesia, Edouard Fritch, Minister of Tourism, Jean-Christophe Bouissou, and Minister of Equipment, Albert Solia paid a visit to our university accompanied by Xie Yuan, Vice President of the Chinese Peoples Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Long Ling, Curator of the Chinese Consulate in Papeete, and Wang Cheng, the President of Tianrui Investment Management Co., Ltd.

President Cheng Yudong made an introduction of our university, reviewed the cooperation history of marine resources between our university and the Polynesian Government, and expressed the intention to promote the cooperation with Polynesia in the scientific research and personnel training of ocean, aquatic products and food through the potential cooperation with Tianrui Investment Management Co., Ltd.

Under the witness of the delegation led by President Fritch, our university signed a strategic agreement on a comprehensive cooperation in protection and utilization of marine resource, science and technology innovation in the development of Tahitian Marine Industrial Park, and talent cultivation with Tianrui Investment Management Co., Ltd.

The delegation led by Chairman Fritch also visited the model of the 11000-meter-deep Rainbow Fish Manned Submersible and remote sensing laboratory. The President gave a high praise of the scientific research development and personnel training of our university.
