Wu Weiqi, an English Major Student of Our University Won the Special-class Award of the 2015 National English Contest for College Students

A few days ago, the Appraisal Meeting the 17th National English Contest (Shanghai Area) for College Students was held in the Minhang Campus of Shanghai Jiaotong University. Wu Weiqi, an English major student of our university did excellent job in the final, and won the special award in the Class B of professional group, which is the best result achieved in the contest of professional group since the students of our university participated in this contest from 2007. In addition, Zhang Lie, graduate student from College of Food Science and Technology, was awarded the first prize for Class A; Shao Anqi from College of Life Science, Du Rouyuan from College of Food Science and Technology and Wei Lan from AIEN Institute  were awarded the first prize for Class C. Gu Shicai, Feng Yanqun, Wu Lihua, Zhang Wei and Shen Huihui, the English teachers from the College of Foreign Languages, were awarded the Prize of Outstanding Instructors. The College of Foreign Languages was awarded the Title of Excellent Organization (Collective).

800 students in our university participated in this contest. The excellent results obtained by the students embodied the spirit of our university to implement the reform of college English teaching and examination required by the Ministry of Education, promoted the steady improvement of English teaching quality, and showed the excellent literacy in English language of our students.
