On November 6, 2014, the Symposium on the Effective Utilization of Living Marine Resources jointly organized by Shanghai Ocean University and Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology was held in our university.
The characteristic and preponderant disciplines of both our university and Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology are disciplines of fisheries, ocean and food science. Both universities feature a long history and have long lasting and extensive inter-school communications. In the symposium, 24 postgraduate students from two universities made academic reports on the special researches on fisheries and food, focusing on the theme of the meeting, Effective Utilization of Living Marine Resources. The fluent English, solid specialty foundation and rich research results of the students won high praise from participating experts and professors. This meeting provided young workers in the field of fisheries science and technology with a stage for study and presentation and further stimulated the academic exchanges between the two universities.
