Germany TV Station Interviewed SHOU

In the afternoon of May 13th, 2013, the second largest non-profit national TV Station ZDF interviewed SHOU on the integrated solar building and shot scenery for a documentary entitled “Green Building and Low-carbon Construction”. Vice President Feng Jinzhang received the camera crew from Germany and accepted the interview.

Vice President Feng Jinzhang told the German reporters about the design concept and new technology application in the integrated solar building for student apartment. He stated that SHOU is a foregoer and practitioner among universities in Shanghai in promoting integrated solar building, and has accumulated wealth of experiences in energy saving, environmental protection and low-carbon construction, therefore playing a demonstrating role among other universities. For instance, the three-level heating shower system with solar power, air source heat pump and gas-fired boiler is beneficial to students both because it improves students’ living quality and because it reduces the cost of shower for students. Furthermore, SHOU has made a lot of explorations in low-carbon construction, energy saving and environmental protection, which is in line with the low-carbon city construction theme of Shanghai and the planning and development of Lingang New City low-carbon practice area.


It is reported that ZDF is shooting a 30-minute documentary on China’s application of green technology in buildings and development of low-carbon lifestyle, which is an epitome of the extensive technological application in low-carbon, energy saving and environmental protection in China’s new city development. It is believed that this documentary will show German people as well as the world China’s sustainable green development concept in city development. It is an honor for SHOU to be interviewed by ZDF for the largest integrated solar building among universities in Shanghai with the three-level heating shower system with solar power, air source heat pump and gas-fired boiler.
